International Paper Builds Out Box Erecting Capacity in South West France
In May, IP acquired Montauban Carton, a jobber located in the South West of France. This erecting center is situated in a major production area for fruits and vegetables, mainly apples, melons and kiwi fruits.
The acquisition of Montauban Carton positions IP nearer to its customers and to the production fields, and allows the company to respond more efficiently to the requirements of its F&V customers. The jobber will significantly improve service in terms of reactivity and rapidity of deliveries which are critical issues for the growers during the harvesting periods. Moreover, the jobber, which is supplied by the box plants in Arles and Espaly, can deliver trays adapted to all crops in all shapes and sizes.
This acquisition is another step in strengthening IP’s position as a leader in the F&V packaging in France and in Europe.
